We only take neutered males and females over the age of 1 year old.
All dogs must be dog friendly and get on well in a pack environment.
We only night board 1 dog at a time due to license restrictions.
With Poochies also being a home, guest dogs need to be toilet trained and have basic house manners.
Yes.
All boarders and kennels must be registered and licensed with their local authority by law.
Poochies is licensed under Broxtowe Borough Council 21/00362/EHHB and insured with PBI.
If your dog gets sick or injured while in our care, we will immediately contact you and take your dog to your own veterinary practice. If there is an immediate emergency the dog will be taking to the nearest Vet.
We will provide updates on your dog's condition and follow any instructions from the vet.
A veterinary release form that you will fill in prior to your dog staying with us will have all the necessary information on for us to have permission to treat your dog in your absence.
Poochies is not a kennel so guest dogs will have the choice what bed they want to sleep in and also have the option of a crate if that is what they’re used to at home.
A typical day at Poochies looks a little like this -
6-7am - Breakfast
8am - Daycare dogs start arriving
8-10am - Free play. Dogs get the chance to have fun together, playing in the garden or playroom. Balls and tug toys are available during this time.
10:30am - Walkies. We walk in one of the many countryside locations in the area, woodlands, canal walks and lakeside. Occasionally we hire an enclosed field for agility and to give the offlead dogs a chance to have a free run.
12-1pm - Nap time. Giving The dogs chance to recharge.
1-4pm - Enrichment and basic training. This can include puzzle games, snuffle boxes, barrier control, ball pit, hide and treat, agility plus much more.
4-5:30pm - daycare dogs start leaving
6pm - Dinner time
7-9pm Quiet time. Dogs get lots of cuddles on the sofa before heading to bed.
We accept dogs who are vaccinated and those who are not but we would require a titre test a year in date of their stay.
Dogs are not left during the day time and 90% of the time there is always someone around in the evening. But the odd time dogs may be left alone.
We are a sporty family and we all practice these in the evenings and sometimes the timings overlap.
If your dog has separation anxiety we may not be the home boarders for you.
Dogs are never left alone for more than 2 hours.
